Sensory ratings are guidance, not verdict

Ratings on this site are produced by a documented methodology (see our Methodology page) combining acoustic analysis and human review. They represent our best estimate of how a song is likely to sit with a sensory-sensitive listener. They are not guarantees. A song rated Safe may still unsettle a specific listener; a song rated Intense may be perfectly tolerable for another. Trust your own response over any rating we assign.

Advertising

Music I Want is participating in the Google AdSense publisher program (status: pending approval at the time of this writing). When ads are live, they will be clearly distinguishable from editorial content, will not appear inside rating data, and will not target children. We do not accept paid placement in song ratings, guides, or recommended lists under any circumstances.

User-contributed content

The Voices platform, the Wall, fan stories, and artist requests are user-submitted. Submitted pieces go through human review before they post publicly. Opinions expressed by Voices writers are their own — publication does not mean endorsement by Music I Want.
