Eddie Vedder solo — the calmer side
Eddie Vedder's solo catalog is dramatically calmer than Pearl Jam. Into the Wild (2007) is mostly acoustic; Ukulele Songs (2011) is what it sounds like; Earthling (2022) is a full solo rock record but still quieter than PJ. If you love Eddie's voice but cannot do full Pearl Jam intensity, this is where you live.
The albums
Into the Wild 2007
The soundtrack to the film. Acoustic, sparse, wilderness-scored. "Society," "Guaranteed," "Rise," and "Hard Sun" are the most well-known. Pretty much every song works as sensory-safe music.
Ukulele Songs 2011
Exactly what the title says. Solo Eddie on ukulele, mostly covers and brief originals. "Can't Keep," "Longing to Belong." Lowest-intensity record in the entire Pearl Jam universe.
Earthling 2022
A real solo rock album with guest stars (Elton John, Stevie Wonder's harmonica on one). Less gentle than Into the Wild but still more controlled than late-era Pearl Jam.
